Velero Expands Management Board

Berlin, March 11, 2025 – Velero has appointed Worna Zohari (53) as an additional Managing Director, effective March 1, 2025. With this appointment, the restructuring of the management board is now complete. Moving forward, Worna Zohari will lead the company alongside Christian Mehl. Both will act as Co-CEOs, with Zohari assuming the role of Co-CEO and COO, responsible for operational business, including the areas of legal affairs, corporate communications, and human resources. Mehl will continue as Co-CEO and CFO, overseeing finance, controlling, IT, and organizational development.

Worna Zohari has been active in the real estate industry for over 25 years, holding various leadership positions. Most recently, he served as CEO of the German operations of European real estate services provider Emeria. Prior to that, he was CEO of the Luxembourg-based BGP Group, a real estate company owned by the Chinese sovereign wealth fund CIC, which he successfully sold in 2019 to a consortium of Union Investment and the ZBI Group. Before that, he was CEO of Dunios Capital, a real estate investor and asset/property manager, from 2010 onwards. From 2005 to 2010, Zohari was a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Management Board of the Gagfah Group (now Vonovia). He holds a degree in real estate economics and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
