Velero renovates around 400 apartments in Aschersleben: improved living comfort and greater energy efficiency
Aschersleben / Berlin, 09 January 2025 – Velero has launched an extensive refurbishment program for its approximately 400 apartments in Aschersleben. With a total investment of around EUR 10 million, Velero is focusing on sustainable and future-oriented residential development at the Halberstädter Straße, Lauestraße and Am Hellgraben sites. Work began in mid-October 2024 and is due to be completed by March 2026.
Comprehensive renovation measures to enhance living comfort
The project includes a wide range of measures designed to significantly improve both energy efficiency and living comfort. These include insulating facades with a full thermal protection system, insulating roofs and basement ceilings in compliance with the latest Building Energy Act, replacing windows, adding new balconies and optimizing heating systems. Vacant apartments will also undergo extensive renovations as part of the program.
These measures are expected to reduce the buildings’ energy consumption by at least 30 %, upgrading their energy efficiency ratings from class E/F to A.
“Our goal is to create modern, sustainable living environments that meet today’s standards,” explains Thomas Tietze, Head of Technical Asset Management at Velero. Mario Spengler, Head of Property Management, adds: “These measures not only contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions but also improve indoor climate and increase living comfort for tenants.”
The extensive renovations are part of Velero’s long-term strategy to sustainably develop its portfolio in Aschersleben while contributing to the energy transition.
