Velero neuseen classics 2023
The BLUE WALL stood – Thank you Team Velero! 🙏
46 VELOS were entered, 45 started and 44 finished. A withdrawal due to illness and bike fatigue led to a difference of minus two finishers.
Our team was led by Florian B. With an average speed of 43.15 km/h, he was the best rider in the Velero racing team. 🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️
Our calf-biter Markus Z., Michael K., Michael B., Thorsten M. and Rayk F. did not let themselves be shaken off and crossed the finish line after 1 hour and 40 minutes, one after the other at 1 second intervals.
Christin Z. led the women’s race and left many a man behind her. She crossed the finish line after an incredible 119 minutes and 22.66 seconds.
In the middle of the field, the rest of the team were biting at the bit and racing for the best places in the slipstream. The BLUE WAND managed to pull away continuously throughout the race and fought for personal best times. The RED BLOCK from the Enloc Group and the HOTLEGs from the LEG Real Estate Group followed and were at your side at all times. We admit, our ambition is awakened and we look forward to seeing you next year 😉…the date block follows!
The fanbase in BLUE gave everything at the finish line and couldn’t stop cheering. They literally carried the riders over and through the finish line with their roars. They stayed at the finish line for a whole 3 hours 55 minutes and 55.6 seconds. They defied the swirling dust and counteracted their damaged vocal chords and the threat of losing their voices with appropriate intermediate oiling.
Clearly the winners of our hearts: Stefanie G. and her faithful companion Mario S. Both took part in the open-type bike race with an ergonomically correct city bike. They averaged an incredible 19.8 km/h and showed the racing bikes just what can be achieved with a city bike.
We can say: a super successful event, with lots of fun combined with great team spirit and plenty of sporting ambition.
