Aschersleben is located in the Salzland district and is the oldest documented town in Saxony-Anhalt and is also known as the gateway to the Harz Mountains. There are several attractive parks within the town. On the outskirts of the town is the "Alte Burg" recreational area with various attractions such as the zoo, the planetarium and the witches' tower. The Promenadenring, a green belt along the old city wall, surrounds the old town.

Location

From Lauestraße, you can easily reach the shopping facilities and the city center on foot. There is now a northern bypass, also known as the A36. It provides a fast, supra-regional connection in the direction of Hanover. The A14 runs around 20 km to the east. Aschersleben's main train station is also within easy reach. As Aschersleben is a regional rail hub, there are good connections to Halle, Magdeburg and Hanover.
